Change is an important factor in life as nothing is constant. Everything — our lifestyle, our environment, our needs — has been changing with every passing day. But something that’s not changing and that ‘really’ needs to be changed is our ‘thinking pattern’! We tend to think in a negative way which badly affected our progress. We are required to support our country as much as we can but instead of lending a helping hand, we just find ways to run away from our responsibilities.
These days, many people are keen to find jobs abroad. This is a selfish way of thinking — we owe everything to our country, it has given us our identity. For the sake of a luxurious life, we must not forget our obligations towards our homeland — the people here need us.
The young and educated people are the backbone of any nation so they must make efforts to bring positive changes instead of looking for opportunities to run away from their responsibilities.
To those who just complain about the problems of Pakistan and are not willing to do anything about it, Anthony de Mello guides in a brilliant way, “If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of earth.”
